URAL & AFROCOM Sign Cooperation Agreement

The URAL automotive plant and AFROCOM have signed a cooperation agreement.

The document was signed on May 25th at the Bauma CTT Russia exhibition in Moscow by URAL Director General Pavel Yakovlev and AFROCOM Chairman Igor Morozov.

According to the AFROCOM Chairman, the committee is ready to promote the URAL brand of Russian automotive vehicles in Africa through its own network of representative offices, including the newly announced AFROCOM Centre for Entrepreneurship in Uganda. He also mentioned that the inauguration of 5 new Trade houses similar to the Ugandan Center is scheduled for 2021.

African markets have been named as the priority export destination for the URAL plant. It has exported its production to South Africa, Angola, Egypt, Libya and other African countries on various occasions in the past. Today branch offices selling URAL trucks can already be found in Johannesburg (South Africa) and Kampala (Uganda).

The vehicles produced by the URAL plant are commonly deployed by African armies. The video below from 2019 shows a Ural 4320 military vehicle passing through thick shrub in Uganda.
