Yandex

Yandex is a Russian IT company incorporated in the Netherlands. It operates most popular search engine in Russia, and also provides a number of other services, including a ride-hailing app, food delivery and logistics services, e-commerce platform, self-driving testing, navigation products, entertainment, classifieds and other services.

Yandex’s business geography includes countries in Europe, the CIS, the Middle East, Asia and Africa. The main shareholder of the company is Arkady Volozh (founder and CEO). In 2020, the company’s revenue amounted to 218 billion rubles ($3 billion), which is 24% more than the revenue in the previous year.

In the fall of 2018, Yandex-Taxi announced the development of a new international brand – Yango (Yandex Go). As of December 2021, Yango operates in 5 African countries: Cameroon, Ghana, Ivory Coast and Senegal. Yango is fully compatible with Yandex-Taxi app. Yandex-Taxi LLC is a member of the African Business Initiative union.
