The Jaramogi Oginga Odinga Teaching & Referral Hospital is located in the port town of Kisumu and widely known as the “Russia Hospital”. It was built in the 1900-s and then redeveloped during the sixties with funds provided by the USSR.
The hospital currently serves approximately 5 million people in the Nyanza region alone. It also serves as a training institution for a growing number of nurses, clinical officers, and doctors. In 2020, the hospital set up an online COVID-19 Training curriculum for health care workers.
